Paul Markowitz founded Senior Living Specialists after his mother, Betty, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s at the young age of 59. After Betty’s diagnosis, Paul and his family made the difficult decision that it was time to find a Assisted Living Facility where she could receive the help and care she deserved.
Without any prior experience with looking for a senior home, Paul began looking for a senior living expert who could help him identify communities that would be the right fit for Betty, but none seemed to know the area, and others charged unreasonably high fees. Ultimately, Paul was able to find an Assisted Living Facility for Betty that fit the bill, but only after a long process.
After going through the strenuous and stressful search, Paul realized that there were other families going through the same process, spending days doing research and making tough decisions. Many families don’t even know what type of care facility they are looking for. They may narrow down their list, but still exhaust themselves by touring home after home, and most don’t know what important questions to ask.
With this in mind, Paul saw the opportunity to help families save time and resources by creating a free, no obligation, advisory referral service for families and seniors who were in need of the same assistance as he had been. Since 2008, Senior Living Specialists has helped more than 10,000 seniors and their families in Dallas / Fort Worth find senior living communities and care homes.
